In this life, time can be somewhat of a fickle thing. Some days there’s seemingly so much of it you just feel like you could finish a quilt and others you’re lucky if you even get a chance to blink. With the ebb and flow of the rhythm of life, sometimes it may take a babe awhile to ride out. That’s my story anyway. Hey gang, it’s me - your friend Amanda Sundvor, and today I’m here to tell you the tale of my very first Babes Ride Out – BRO 13.

First of all, I don’t want anyone here calling stolen valor because I, in fact, did not ride out. I drove out, but before you come for me in the comment section that doesn’t exist, the van I was driving had bikes in it and cool ones to boot – the S4 Honchos. Is the van cool at least? Well, I’m glad you asked. May I introduce to you Jean-Claude Damme Van – the LiveWire van. All the accoutrements to facilitate a mobile disco party with coziness of a roadside motel, like the Muscles from Brussels, Damme Van came to party.
I’ve been all around this event professionally over the years, and yet I’ve never been at it. That changed this year when LiveWire sent me and three of our Honchos to Babes Ride Out with our friends at Steelhead LiveWire. After loading up the shred sleds in Jean-Claude along with an inflatable couch, a big ol’ speaker, a party light, and enough smores to choke a horse, I headed from my homebase in Portland, OR to Crescent Lake, which is also in Oregon. One of my quicker trips, but I’d say probably the most beautiful drive yet.

After arriving, I set up camp and did a little exploring of the area. The Shelter Cove Resort & Marina hosts BRO and they had everything one would need for an enjoyable getaway minus an underground sexy dance club where one could carry a watermelon or perhaps learn the lift, so no one, I repeat, no one puts you in the corner. (Please see the movie Dirty Dancing. PLEASE!)
If you weren’t on one of the many group rides through the PNW’s magical twisties, you could choose to take part in some onsite activities. From wrenching clinics, to tattoos, to dance parties, it was all there for the choosing. Heck, it was a proverbial revolving door with pals old and new looking to commemorate their platonic love at the friendship bracelet station. Move over, second graders; these bracelets are for the Babes.

My days were filled with Honcho Demos and shenanigan desires with our friends from Steelhead LiveWire. Being we had the S4 Honcho Trail we ripped these motorpickles on a course that was a little ring-a-ding around the premise. Every rider returned with an ear to ear grin that would knock the stripes off the Cheshire Cat. That’s what the Honcho does. It takes you back to the spirit of our youth, back to being a kid and the streetlights coming on was your signal to head home. A simple twist of the wick is like having your own flux capacitor and instead of taking you back to 1955 in a DeLorean, you become a kid again on a mini-bike in there here and now. It's a lot of magic in a little package.

After a weekend of motorcycle, campfires, smiles and miles it was time to pack it in and head back to home. I met so many new people and even made a friend or two, all who share the all-consuming love of motorcycles, just like I do. Babes, you didn’t disappoint. Don’t go changin’.
With Love,
Your friend – Amanda, Field Marketing Manager
