01 OWNERSHIP COSTS

Fleet Ownership
Costs

Electric motorcycles are cheaper to operate for fleet duty than more conventional internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles due to several factors, including fewer powertrain components, a lower number of consumable parts and the ability to recharge from multiple sources.

Being electric, the powertrain offers reduced and streamlined interactions for both operation and service. LiveWire electric motorcycles will generate fewer maintenance costs over the lifetime of use due to having far fewer moving parts. The electric powertrain is a single-speed and does not require a clutch or transmission to operate, eliminating the most cost-prohibitive combustion engine repairs. ICE consumable parts like tires, brake pads and crash replacement items represent the majority of service costs in comparison to electric motorcycles where wear and tear is reduced.

Your department can also take advantage of the LiveWire ONE's in-built Level 1 charging to keep infrastructure investments to a minimum. If your location already has DC-Fast charging infrastructure, then you'll also be able to recharge LiveWire ONE in an hour or less depending on the state of charge.

This all adds up to significant savings over the life of your fleet. In fact, thanks to the advantages of EV, you can expect to see annual savings of more than $3,000 for the LiveWire ONE electric motorcycle when compared to a BMW R1250 RT Police model, or any equivalent internal combustion engine fleet motorcycle.

The numbers shown are estimates only. Actual average cost and savings per bike will vary based on environment conditions, geographic location, riding style, installed accessories, modifications, repairs and rider stature.

02 WHY EV?

Why EV for
Fleet Duty?

Unlike ICE motorcycles, LiveWire electric motorcycles have no clutch, so your riders will see much less fatigue on their left hand because they won’t be using the clutch during prolonged lower speed operations. And we’re sure they’ll love the smooth and consistent power delivery, particularly at lower speeds from our throttle system. Moreover, the LiveWire electric motorcycles are quiet, allowing the officers or security teams to focus on the ambient sounds during their patrol.
